DRUM 800

Mutual Arising (CIC) Ltd was a Community Interest Company founded in 2006 with my friend Pete Davies. The company initiated and collaborated on community projects, which included Music Workshops with The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Social Services and Merseyside Police. It also operated Special Projects, the major one being DRUM 800, a community inclusive celebration for the night of Liverpools 800th Birthday on August 28th 2007. This project, which was only possible with the unpaid dedication and support of many people and services, was a tribute to the collaborative process and what is achievable when people believe in something. I would like to express a massive THANK YOU to all of the people who made the event possible and the thousands who came to celebrate with us.

GO TO VIDEOS

For me personally, this was a very intense journey that began as an idea in my living room: In the modern world, full of cynicism, pessimism and distrust, would it be possible to bring together disparate groups without any money, no support and based purely upon a creative idea? As it turns out, yes it was, and I/we/they set out to prove it. What I learned from the experience was that the power of community grass roots projects are truly possible with only one thing driving them - belief. It is infectious and brings joy to all who participate in it. It is beautiful and it is unstoppable.

16 years later I am so happy that I did. I rewatch the videos now and they speak for themselves and everyone who appears in them.

WITH BELIEF IN YOURSELF AND YOUR BELIEF IN OTHERS - ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

BELIEVE, GET OUT THERE AND DO IT

Love and light,

Stev. X
