2003 - In the build up to The Iraq War (2003) I and just about everyone else in the world, it seemed, were not convinced with our governments' reasons (Tony Blair) for supporting America in an invasion of Iraq. As history now shows, our doubts were very justified. I felt strongly about this issue at the time and composed this piece of music in response to those feelings. When I played it to one of my wife's friends, she suggested that it would be a good piece for the Anti-War Movement in the UK. I discussed the idea with another friend, Ian Fradgley, who said we should make a video to accompany it. Ian searched through his extensive video collection and selected the many clips he felt would marry well with the music. Having no video production capabilities at that time, we went along and had a meeting with Liverpool renegade film director Alex Cox. He loved the music and kindly gave us the use of his video production facility where, along with editor Mark McDermott, we put the video together. It went on to be used by the UK Stop The War Coalition at rallies and, I was later informed, was also a top 3 finalist in The Big Issue Film Awards of 2003.
