1987 - It was the time when House Music was beginning to happen as an underground music scene in a few UK nightclubs and on a handful of radio stations. This original version of 'Houseplan' was recorded in the living room of my flat in Liverpool. It was recorded live into a 4-track Tascam 244 Portastudio which used normal audio cassettes to record on! The cassette that was used (and I still have) was one of those wonderful TEAC Sound 52 mini golden reel-to-reel cassettes which now sell for a fortune on sites like Ebay.
